THE FLUOROSCOPE, THE CELL PHONE AND THE SMART METER
The fluoroscope, a casual shoe fitting X ray machine began appearing in shoe stores in the early 1920s. By 1950 it is said that over 10,000 were deployed across the nation. During this time, parents had become convinced by industry propaganda that these machines were the cure-all for ill-fitting shoes. Children loved the gadgets, but catastrophe was lurking that would not become evident for decades:
“It entered a well-established culture of shoe-selling hucksterism that relied on scientific rhetoric; it took advantage of the woman client newly accustomed to the electrification of her home and the patter of experts’ advice about ‘scientific motherhood’; it neatly sidestepped the thorny problem of truth in advertising that became an issue in the interwar years; and it enticed thrill-seeking children into shops where salesmen could work their magic.”

During this time, the industry ignored any reported hazards as irrelevant and in fact advertised these cancer machines as perfectly safe:
"The shoe-fitting fluoroscope is not an instrument with obviously hazardous potentialities. It has long been used and no direct clinical evidence of harm has yet been established." --Leon Lewis, MD and Paul E. Caplan, MPH, Berkley-Jan. 1950
People who were exposed to these machines included store salesmen, parents and children, none of whom ever felt, tasted, saw or heard any ill effects at the time of exposure. However, evidence from Hiroshima, Japan after the atomic bomb blast in 1945 convinced authorities that even low doses of radiation were dangerous. This brought about a nationwide ban of shoe fitting fluoroscopes, driven particularly by the revelation that children were twice as radiosensitive as adults, and exposure for any person was found to be cumulative.
So, enter the advent of the cell phone and the smart meter. Exactly like the fluoroscope, neither of these high tech devices emits radiation that can be seen, heard, felt, smelled or tasted by most unsuspecting users. ------
The smart phone is now ten years old, and it often takes 20 years for cancer to develop and be symptomatic. Smart meters are being deployed to the entire nation as I write. And if that is not bad enough, all wireless devices are scheduled to be incorporated into a new network of even more dangerous 5-G technology.
And what has been the traditional view of risk to the public of wireless devices?
“It is known that high levels of RF radiation can produce biological damage primarily due to tissue heating effects. But it is not known whether, to what extent, and through what mechanism (if any), low levels of RF radiation might cause biological effects. Although research has been performed to answer these questions, no clear picture of the biological effects of this type of radiation has emerged to date through peer-reviewed, reproducible, scientific studies. Therefore, our current knowledge does not permit us to state definitively that mobile phones are absolutely safe, or that they are unsafe. But available scientific evidence does not demonstrate any significant adverse health effects (no increased risk of brain cancer, etc.) associated with the normal use of cell phones.” UC Irvine.
Enter a 2016, twenty five million dollar study by the Federal Government, as reported by Scientific American, and a disturbing picture emerges:
“Recently, federal scientists released partial findings from a $25-million animal study that tested the possibility of links between cancer and chronic exposure to the type of radiation emitted from cell phones and wireless devices. The findings, which chronicle an unprecedented number of rodents subjected to a lifetime of electromagnetic radiation starting in utero, present some of the strongest evidence to date that such exposure is associated with the formation of rare cancers in at least two cell types in the brains and hearts of rats. The results, which were posted on a prepublication Web site run by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, are poised to reignite controversy about how such everyday exposure might affect human health.”
And the truth here is stranger than fiction, since it is only a matter of time before these rare cancers become rampant in the population of humans. In fact the CDC reports that the second leading cause of death for children aged 5-14 years is ------CANCER. Is there any possible connection to wireless devices?
